What is a Church School?

A Church School blends high quality education with a deep commitment to valuescommunity and the whole child. Its long history of serving children and families continues today through nurturing relationships, a strong moral framework, and a vision of helping every student become who they were created to be.

Church schools are distinctive because they place Christian values, community and the unique worth of every child at the centre of school life. We offer an education that nurtures students academically, socially, morally and spiritually, welcoming children of all faiths and none.

Did you know?

The Church was the first major provider of education in England, long before the state became involved.

By the mid 1800s, the Church had established thousands of schools, forming the foundation of the national education system.

Today, around a quarter of primary schools in England have a Church of England foundation, continuing this legacy of service and inclusion.
